【Mrefilter】The oil filters' function to the engines

Those people who do not contact autoparts frequently may not understand oil filters well and are not clear about what they are used for, acutally it is almost the same as cabin filter, fuel filter, air filters. They are all for the filtration for all the parts of the engines, so that it can prolong the lifetime of each part.

Oil filter is mostly used in the lubrication system to filtrate the impurities, dust, moisturein the oil, which confirm the cleaness of oil and prolong the lifetime of the engine. At the same time, oil filter is used to assure sealing good and lubrication system path clear.

The role and function of oil filters
 In order to reduce the frictional resistance of the Relative motion partsin the engine,  reducing the wearing of the each parts,  oil is transported to the  friction surface of each motion part to creat lubrication film and then lubricate.  The oil contains a certain amount of pectin, moisture and additive,  And some other impurities. During the operation of the engine, as the entrance of the metal abrasive dust and the impurities in the air will pollute the oil.  If the oil enters oil-way without the filtration of the filter, the impurities in the oil will be brought to the friction surface of motion parts, which speed up the wearing of each part.

Types of engine oil filter
There are three types of engine oil filter, sumpstrainer, oil coarse filter and oil fine filter.

The sump strainer is arranged on the bottom of the oil pump’s shell，prevent mass of impurities gets into the oil pump, adopt metal screen generally.

The oil coarse filter used to filtrate the big mass impurities. Because oil coarse filter’s resistance to the oil flow is small, so it usually connected with the oil pump and main oil pipe, belongs to the whole flow filter.

The oil fine filter connected with main oil pipe which behind the oil pump, including two types, microporous filter paper type and rotor type. The rotor oil fine filter using the centrifugal filtration without element, solve the problem of oil’s passing ability and filtration efficiency effectively.

The importance of oil filter is as same as AC filter, fuel filter and air filter. Oil filter is essential for the longevity and protection for the engines. So every car owner try your best to maintain your oil filter.
