Replacement steps of the air filter:
1. The first step is to open the engine compartment cover and confirm the position of the air filter. The air filter is generally located on the left side of the engine compartment, above the left front wheel. You can see a square plastic black box with the filter element installed in it. There are 4 buckles around the casing cover, which are used to press the plastic casing above the air filter to keep the air inlet pipeline sealed. The structure of the buckle is relatively simple. We only need to gently lift the two metal clips upward to lift the upper cover of the entire air filter. There are also some models that use screws to fix the air filter. At this time, you need to choose a suitable screwdriver to unscrew the screw on the air filter box, then you can open the plastic shell and see the air filter inside.
2. The second step is to take out the air filter element and check whether there is more dust. You can tap the end face of the filter element lightly, or use compressed air to clean the dust on the filter element from the inside out. Do not rinse with tap water. If you check that the air filter is severely clogged, you need to replace it with a new one. Comparing the old and new filters that were removed, we can find that the filter paper of the old filter has turned black. This is because a lot of dust has accumulated in the paper fibers. Excessive dust accumulation will inevitably make the air flow too low, resulting in poor engine working conditions and weakened power performance. Therefore, regular replacement of the air filter is helpful to the maintenance of the engine's power performance.
3. In the third step, the air filter box needs to be thoroughly cleaned after the air filter element is processed. Generally, a large amount of dust will accumulate under the air filter, and this dust is the culprit that causes the engine power to drop.
4. The fourth step, when installing a new air filter, we need to pay attention to a protruding plastic sheet on the right under the air filter. This plastic sheet is designed to prevent the installation of a back air filter. When installing the air filter, the plastic sheet must be inserted into the slot of the filter seat to be installed in place.
5. ​After confirming that the air filter is installed in place, the shell can be covered, and the 4 buckles on the edge can be buckled and you are done.
